It was a mix of family-time, attending the Baha'i summer school at De Poort and playing house in our beloved Amsterdam. Here are some more photos...
First up we participated in a Baha'i summer school in Groesbeek where the children attended moral education classes and we attended a workshop on the spiritual nature of economics as well as lectures on the life and mission of Baha'u'llah, the manifestation of God whose precepts Baha'is all over the world live by. We stayed in a cute wagon with this amazing view of a path leading into the lush and verdant forest.
The weather was on and off but we enjoyed some gorgeous days and I snapped pics of my beautiful people. Holidays are so important. It's so good to get a chance to go somewhere gorgeous and spend the days and nights with the people you love and care for.
My bestie and I took the kids on a trip to Madurodam - a miniature amusement park near The Hague. The kids felt like giants! And we even bumped into a friend from Namibia... it's a small world after all!!!
Strangely, holidays come with their fair share of "real-life stuff" - like flares of fatigue, rushing around to catch trains, cycling through the rain (actually that was kind of fun), and juggling "appointments" to meet up with various friends. All-in-all though I think this was one of our best visits since we left Amsterdam in 2010. It may have a lot to do with the fact that the children are all old enough to walk and carry (some of) their own stuff. We all slept well, ate very well and were treated with such warmth and hospitality.
