Week 1: already new family member!

Celine, Tim and Roya have welcomed a new family member last Saturday 21 April at 20h29. Congratulations! He was born within a few hours only and mother and son are doing well. Naomi's cousin is younger, but weighs 1,2 kg more! Grandfather Houshang was very proud to pose with his three grandchildren for a picture, and he gladly awaits another one in June!

Dear friends,

We are happy to announce the birth of our daughter Naomi, who was born on Sunday 15th April at 04.20 am at Sint Lucas Andreas Ziekenhuis, Amsterdam - in the presence of her parents and her grandmother Meme Sustjie. News will follow, but let us just say now.....WE ARE SO HAPPY TO BE TOGETHER WITH THIS BEAUTIFUL CHILD!

the last day...

The last day before the BIG day - and wow was I feeling big! We were only 11 days away from the due date... but babies work on their own schedule!

Sun is shining

With spring in the air I'm enjoying spending a lot of my afternoons on the balcony reading. Some great reads:
'When We Grow Up' (on inspired but practical Baha'i parenting) by Bahiyyih Nakhjavani
'Third Culture Kids' (on raising children in multiple cultural settings) by David C. Pollock and Ruth E. van Reken
'Baby's Eerste Jaar'... a reference guide on the first year of a baby's life - just leafing through really.
and lately... ' The Mosquito Coast' by Paul Theroux - a fantastic adventure novel!
Sometimes fiction can be a great distraction from the pending due date.
